Hi, I am trying to create invoices showing what members owe for the 2026 summer. We would like to mail paper invoices to all users but I do not see a way to create invoices for membership dues.
Thanks for reaching out! I want to help clarify how Member Splash handles membership dues, as it works a bit differently than traditional invoicing systems.
How Member Splash works:
Member Splash is designed as a self-service membership portal rather than an invoice-based system. Here’s the typical flow:
-
Members log into their portal and see their membership options/products available for purchase
-
Members select what they need (membership renewals, registrations, etc.)
-
Members pay online directly through the portal using credit card or ACH
-
Payment is processed immediately and the member receives a receipt
This means there isn’t a traditional “invoice” that gets generated and sent to members - instead, members initiate their own purchases through their portal when they’re ready to renew or register.
For your 2026 summer memberships:
Rather than mailing paper invoices, you would:
-
Set up your 2026 summer membership product(s) in Member Splash
-
Flip all current members to “Unpaid” status for 2026 - this ensures they see membership options available for purchase when they log in
-
Send members an email announcement letting them know renewals are open
-
Direct them to log into their portal to complete their membership renewal
Most organizations find this approach actually improves payment speed and reduces administrative work compared to mailing paper invoices and waiting for checks to arrive.
I’ve included a helpful resource that explains the full platform flow: https://support.membersplash.com/en/articles/13393517-member-splash-platform-overview-for-board-members
Thank you for replying. We did that last year and expect most members will pay through Member Splash, however we have a lot of older members who do not want to use the website. I was able to create an invoice by exporting all member data and creating an invoice using a mail merge.
